Its transition time. Indian general consumer is going online to buy commodity. Although the internet coverage in India is not so extensive and economical. But as far as big cities are concerned user is going online to buy things.

How does the scenario of shopping changing.

the Homeshop18 company is using television cum internet for selling purposes. When a customer go the the shop. shopkeeper doesn't' have sufficient time to explain the products with merits and demerits. Homeshop18 is utilizing this concept to reach the common consumers. Cash on delivery is another big factor for moving the Indian afraid consumer to e-shopping.

A general internet user now have shopping guides, reviews of the product and other details. So he have sufficient knowledge to buy a product and a general shopkeeper doesn't satisfy him. So Online shopping is an attractive window for him.

The online shopping mostly involves pre-payment of the product through a secure payment gateway.In india the consumers piratically are not so secured and the era of the online shopping increases the risk of victimizing of Indian consumer. And there seems no law regularizing these online shopping.

Case-!. Purchase from Ebay india

1. I bought a USB hub from ebay india. While searching various listing i found on one for me. The language on the listing page was vague and i got a product not fullfilling my need. money lost. I Talked to the seller, he assued to remove the vague statement and highlight the hidden cruial text. I got 150 Rs money loss.

2. I bought a samsung tab 2 from ebay. 10 Tablets were available at the time of purchase but zoomin seller on ebay asked time extension. My money Worth Rs 15000 Rs got blocked for a month approx. Positive thing was that zoomin told to give me a apology token gift. first time the apology gift 8 gb pen drive didn't reach and returned back to zoomin nobody from courier called on the phone. Second time i requested to despatch to some different adress but zoomin again sent to same address. hell again i didn't receive the apology gift. third time i emailed but their email box was full and email didnt delivered. Yes we can say zoomin seller on ebay as good as well as bad seller too.

3.Third time I purchased a coido pump from the ebay. Again even with availability seller refused to deliver the product. I contacted ebay but nothing done and the seller still was saling same item in other listing. My money Rs 1000 Aprox. blocked approx 10 days.

4. I bought a mobile  from Naaptol.com. Naaptol sent me a cheap phone not as per specification i bought. I complaied to naaptol and naaptol told me to send back the mobile. after 15 days on complaining various time I got a replacement but It was again some other cheap phone. I told naaptol customer care to refund my money as approx one and half month lapsed for this purchase order. Naaptol refused to refund money and told me to send the product to naaptol again. It was limit I gave naaptol consumer complaint notice. Then a phone from gizmobazaar24x7.com came that I may get refund of purchase. Till that time I had expanded Rs 1500 Rs approx in transport, phone etc. So I refused for refund and told that my total expenditure be returned. The naaptol vendor told that he can give me a tab same as VOX102 on naaptol and specifications are same. I Returned the product and waited for tab to come. In last the naaptol vendor told me that specification of promised tab is not same as promised. I again told him that alternatively he can give micromax A89 vendor refused and proposed cheap phone alternative. I also refused the alternatives. Again I was made fool and almost two months lapsed I again wrote to naaptol to give me refund with my expanses Rs 1500. Naaptol finally contacted me and refused to give refund of my expanses and told that only purchase value will be refunded and if i dont accept that he will forward case to naaptol's legal team and warned me that I will take long time to battle. I seemed they make joke of consumer court. As to save more time I accepted the purchase value refund but my expanses Approx 1500 Rs not refunded. Its same in India instead of putting mind to created ideas we battle for silly things. Mental harrassment and health losses due to all this is again a big concern. As I discussed in my group I also came to know that others also were affected by the naaptol purchase. My college Sri Arora's family member didn't get ever the right phone ordered. This is hell and one should see other consumer complaints before buying.

The governent guidelines and tight surveilance is the need of time of online shoppings without affecting the fair and easy business development.

 Precautions and rules for buying online.

1. Go to the trusted websites (As minimum refund would be there)
2. Before purchase enquire properly and save all your purchase documents.
3. Read customer feed backs and complaints of sites. Dont go by the feedback on the shopping sites as these may be fake.
4. Ensure to read all terms conditions and hidden  conditions.
5. Use fair mind dont be greedy.
6. Communication should be in written and through email. Phone calls usually not considered.
7. If you have time go to various consumer forums TV or others to punish malpractices. Its our duty. Publish the feedback data online for other customers also.
